Make a child smile ...

"It's not enough to have lived. We should be determined to live for something.May I suggest that it be creating joy for others, sharing what we have for the betterment of personkind, bringing hope to the lost and love to the lonely"
                                                                                                                                    -Leo Buscaglia

In my life, one thing I have found really true is that, nothing can compare to the sense of joy and aliveness that comes from being of service to others.Of course I can't really contribute big time right now,but even small things like seeing my sweetheart's face light up when I showed him the painting I made of him, or feeling the enthusiasm of my five year old neice as she finally found me interested in her endless babbling, when other family members were too pre-occupied to listen - such simple little things too can go a really long way in making life feel worthwhile...
It was not long back that I came across  http://www.makeachildsmile.org. It is dedicated to bringing happiness to little kids all over the United States, who are not fortunate like many of us, to have a normal, healthy childhood. They are suffering from terrible chronic illnesses..many of them terminal. So MACS aims at easing their pains by having encouraging and inspiring cards, letters, gifts or even money sent to them from willing contributors. The website features the children along with their ailments and postal address so that anyone wanting to contribute can directly contact the child's family. The website also provides regular updates on the child's condition to the contributor. It doesn't really cost a fortune...a few kind words or a funny card or an encouraging story...that's all it takes to brighten up the day for a suffering little kid.
Looking forward to do some feel good service? - why not check out http://www.makeachildsmile.org...

Btw..the new bunch of cards are up...hope you like it :-)
